Since its formation back in May 1979 Moscow band Avtograf (Autograf) summarized absolutely the best in Russian-singing rock music. Being classically-educated musicians, members of Avtograf played highly sophisticated and melodic progressive rock with distinctive metallic edge and chamber music overtones — pre-dating Dream Theater for good 10 years! Even at the time of Communist cultural restrictions band performed up to 190 shows per year at domestic soil, but in early Perestroika years Avtograf's success was second to none and the band became first then-USSR rockers with professional live tours over France and US (1987-1988). Over the years music of Avtograf transformed: this LP (1989) represents pompous arena AOR at its best, and not without progressive rock elements. This is greatest Russian studio rock album ever on all levels — at least it was verdict of domestic music magazine PLAY back at 2005. Eight songs of pure professionalism, magnificence and brilliance, gloriously played and produced. And you need not to understand any Russian lyrics here to taste the band. Fully remastered 2013 especially for vinyl release at Cosmos Mastering (Sweden).
